Why Fast-Response

High-resolution together with high-accuracy are key elements for the implementation of polarimetric techniques in quality-control which demands for the highest-standards solutions. High-resolution polarimetry has many applications in different sectors such as pharmaceuticals, the industries of beverages and fragances, or chemicals and material engineering.​

Until very recently, high-resolution polarimetry involved measurement times that could be as long as a minute. These long times prevented the installation of high-resolution polarimeters in production lines for real-time quality control of all manufactured products. Two recent developments have completely changed the previous scenario. The polarimetric camera SONY SNY-XCG-CP510 and the conical-refraction polarimeter allow both for high-resolution measurements to be taken in real time. An infinite number of new applications are foreseen for which real-time polarimetry is required.
